2008 New Works Festival Finalist
THE MEDEA COMPLEX
Written by Patricia Crespin &
Directed by Sara Guerrero
Opens Fri, Oct 30 – Sat, Nov 21
The Medea Complex
is a loose
adaptation of Euripides Medea, with
a Latin twist. Medea thrives
on the weakness of others and reeks
of temptation and doom. She
encompasses all women who stand to
be judged for their actions and
apologizes for none of it.
Gilberto is an aging warrior,
fighting for his self respect,
desperately trying to find it
through Medea. Jason is a
greedy fool who manipulates his way
in and out of the lives of those who
love him and naively brings tragedy
to everything he touches.
Throw in a haunting soundtrack and a
kooky guard and you’ve got The Medea
